Marilyn Ann Tompa
October 2, 1954 - August 30, 2014
TOMPA, Marilyn Ann, age 59 years, passed away August 30, 2014. Marilyn was born on October 2, 1954 in Anchorage, Alaska to the late Richard and Delores (Gary) Rooker. She later married Richard Tompa and he survives her.
Along with her husband, Richard Tompa, Marilyn is survived by her mother, Delores Rooker; 2 sons, Jeffery Tompa and Jason (Erica) Tompa; 4 sisters, Marsha (Jim) Walston, Debbie Rooker, Vicki (Greg) Cooper and Jean (Tim) Damic; and a brother, Rick (Pam) Rooker. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Rooker.
Funeral services will be held September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles. Bill Bodnar of Old Town Christian Outreach Center will preside. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 2-9 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
May 10, 1960 - July 30, 2014
MUIRHEAD, Patrick, age 54 years, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born on May 10, 1960 to the late James and Betty (Crampton) Muirhead. He grew up in Oakley and graduated from Chesaning High School. On October 17, 1981 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, the former Shirley Marshall and she survives him. Pat proudly served in the US Navy from 1983-1989 after which he went on to work at Dow Chemical as a chemical operator from 1990 until the present. Pat volunteered for the St. Charles Little League Association as a coach and headed the organization of the umpires for 10 years. He was also a Cub Scout pack leader for 3 years. Pat was a devoted University of Michigan fan, an avid supporter of youth golf in the area, enjoyed a good Loons game, loved to travel with his family and wife, and was a firework enthusiast.
Surviving family include his wife, Shirley, his children, Katie McCool, Jon (Katie) Muirhead; a grandson; and his siblings, Donna (Ed) Sumbera, Jill (Jim) Flicek, Kevin Muirhead, Michelle (Tim) Graham, Brian Muirhead, Colleen (Cliff) Nixon and Hether (Joe) Birchmeier. Along with his parents, Pat was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Muirhead.
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Rev. Christopher M. Coman will preside. Visitiation will take place at CM Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles, on Monday from 1-8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Committal service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in St. Charles. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles High School in honor of the Patrick Muirhead Pay to Play Scholarship.
Ruth Joanne Schmitter
August 14, 1932 - May 9, 2014
SCHMITTER, Ruth Joanne, age 81 years, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Chesaning Nursing Center after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 14, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Schmitter Sr.; daughter, JoAnne Schmitter of Troy; grandson, Jeffery (Sara) Schmitter of Beaverton; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob and Jacklyn Ruth Schmitter, Charlene Smith and Ahilivia Hodges. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Schmitter Jr. in August of 2013 and a granddaughter, Joni Kay Schmitter in 1987.
Cremation has taken place. Future arrangements are pending.
David W. Klein
June 28, 1946 - May 4 2014
KLEIN, David W., age 67 years, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his home. He was born to the late Willard and Eleanor (Newsted) Klein on June 28, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan. On September 14, 1968 he married the former Kathleen Davis and she survives him.
Along with his wife, David is survived by 2 sons, Jeremy M. and Scott D. Klein; 2 grandchildren, Noah M. and Shaya L. Klein; 2 sisters, Sheila Klein and Sharon (Frank) Golz; a brother, Robert Klein; in-laws, Keith (Gerri) Haney, Darlene Anaman, Janet (Larry) Streeter, Linda (Charlie) Miller and Tom Garno; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents David was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Klein; in-laws, Terry Garno and Ed Anaman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 1123 W. Walnut St., St. Charles. Pastor Jason Baldwin will officiate. A burial of cremains will take place in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet visitors at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., on Friday, May 16 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Visiting Nurse Services.
Jack F. Flory, Sr.
April 23, 1939 - April 1, 2014
FLORY, Jack, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 23, 1939 to the late Simon and Rose (Ralph) Flory. On July 2, 1960 he married the former Lorraine Polash and she survives him. Jack retired from the Carpenters Union #706. He had a great love for his family, garden and yard.
Along with his wife Lorraine, Jack is survived by 3 children, Donna Flory of St. Charles, Debbie Flory (Hare) of St. Charles and Jack Jr. (Kellie) Flory of Tawas City; 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Hare, Matthew Flory, Nicholas Hare, Courtney Flory and Isabelle Flory; 2 great-grandchildren, Braydyn and Miley; a brother, Robert (Loretta) Flory of St. Charles; a sister, Janet (Butch) Nowosatko of St. Charles; a sister-in-law, Susan Frasier of Grand Rapids; a brother-in-law, William (Barbara) Polash of Crystal Lake, Illinois and many close nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Jack F. Flory Sr. was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph (Chum) Flory and Jerry Flory.
By following Jack’s wishes he will be cremated and no services are planned. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, St. Charles.

On September 5, 1953, the former Herminia Guerrero married Manuel Cadena and he survives her. Along with her husband she is survived by children, Rosemarie Kendall, Corinne (Clark) Kendall, Rita (Jeff) Whited, Anthony (Christy) Cadena, Jennifer (John) Moore, Lydia (Andy Hudecek) Cadena; 11 grandchildren, Jamie (Brandon) Chrisopulos, Jonathon Kendall, Kemery Kendall, Katrina (Cory) Meyers, Allie Whited, James and Jess Cadena, Sammy Kobe, Gina Moore, Mason Moore and Manuel Hudecek; 5 great-grandchildren; and 6 siblings. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by 8 siblings.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Fr. Nick Coffaro will officiate with a committal to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Charles. The family will greet friends at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles on Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. A rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. with sharing time to follow. The family will greet friends again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Mary of the Immaculate Conception Alter Society.

April 24, 1946 - January 22, 2014
Along with his wife Melissa, Fred is survived by his mother Barb Kolles of Freeland; 2 children, Christine (Brian) Garno of St. Charles and Brian (Sylvia) Kolles of Chesaning; 3 step-children, Barry (Amber) Druelle of St. Charles, Megan (John) Thurston of Waterford and Ashley (Jon Cox) Druelle of Yulee, FL; 6 grandchildren, Amanda and Heather Garno, Christian Kolles, Bryce Druelle, Blake Thurston and Brady Cox; 2 brothers, Gary (Collyn) Kolles of Freeland and Greg (Mary Ellen) Kolles of Kentucky; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Kennelly of St. Charles. Along with his father, Fred J. Kolles, Fred was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Timothy Kennelly.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles. Pastor Robert Schmidt from Freeland Zion Lutheran Church will officiate with burial following at Cook Cemetery in Taymouth Twp. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
